At Leichhardt State School, we are committed to providing engaging, meaningful and child-centred learning experiences that inspire students to love learning. We develop units that align with the Australian Curriculum while providing opportunities for hands-on learning, real-world connections and First Nations perspectives.
Students participate in a range of learning experiences, including excursions, incursions and activities that support their interests, strengths and individual learning needs. We provide quality resources and opportunities to ensure every student is supported to achieve success.
Students in Years 4–6 participate in Yuggera Language, developing an understanding and appreciation of First Nations language, culture and history.
During lunchtime, students can participate in our STEAM Club, where they explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics through creative, hands-on activities that encourage curiosity, innovation and problem-solving.
Our English Teaching and Learning Sequence provides students with explicit teaching in reading, writing, speaking and listening, supporting them to develop strong literacy skills and confidence as communicators.

Swimming lessons are offered to all students from Year 1 to Year 6 in Term 4, supporting students to develop essential water safety skills, confidence and physical wellbeing.
